Dr. Carlos A. Paz de Araujo 

Dr. Carlos A. Paz de Araujo is a co-founder and the Executive Chairman of Symetrix Corporation.  Dr. Araujo is the recipient of the prestigious 2006 IEEE Daniel E. Noble Award "For Fundamental Contributions and Commercialization in the Field of Ferroelectric Random Access Memories (FeRAM)".  This award is given for outstanding contribution to emerging technologies recognized within recent years.

Prior to co-founding Symetrix, Dr Araujo co-founded another semiconductor company, Ramtron International Corporation, a publicly traded fabless semiconductor company that was recently acquired by Cypress Semiconductor.

Dr. Araujo is Associate Dean for Research and Development / Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs; Adjunct Professor, Department of Materials Science and Engineering in the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science, University of Texas at Dallas; Advisory Professor to Fudan University in Shanghai, China, and Advisory Professor to Kochi Technical University in Kochi, Japan.

He served as a commissioner for the Colorado Governor's Commission on Science and Technology under Governor Owens, and is an advisor to the Governor of Hiroshima - Hiroshima Science Park.

He is a member of seven professional societies and has received six different awards and honors in addition to the IEEE award mentioned above.   Dr. Araujo has served as the editor of the Journal of Integrated Ferroelectrics and Chairman of the International Symposium on Integrated Ferroelectrics.
